SFD (Standard Format for Data) is a system for organizing experimental data. The purpose of SFD is to store data in a form suitable for communication between scientists and for exchange between programs for data processing.
The present SFD dataset browser is a utility for browsing SFD datasets across the web, using a standard frames-capable web-browser.
The system is experimental and currently runs off my Linux PC. When I have to run Windows'95, the system will not be available.
Yoy may download the freely available source code of the SFD dataset browser. It is written in Standard ML, and specifically requires Moscow ML.
When you are browsing a dataset, there will be a hyperlink called
DOWNLOAD in the top right hand corner of the value
window. If you hold down the SHIFT button on your
keyboard and click on this link, then the value currently being
displayed will be downloaded to your computer.
A download from the top of the value tree, displayed initially, will download the entire SFD dataset. A download from further down in the value tree will create an SFD data file containing only the submodel (that is, the type declarations), the annotations, and the data relevant to the value currently being displayed.
